vegetarianism and pacifism

Is there anyone on this list who is a pacifist or identifies strongly
with pacifism?
Do you equate or strongly connect your feelings on pacifism and
vegetarianism? Were you a pacifist first, and then a vegetarian? Was
it partly your desire for peace that convinced you to be vegetarian?
I have a friend who is strongly pacifist but has never made the
connection with vegetarianism, and I am interested in talking with him
about it, but I've never approached it from that angle before.
I know Gandhi was a vegetarian...have there been other people
prominent in the peace movement who have been vegetarian?
Also, are there any Web sites that anybody knows of that have to do
with the peace movement?
