I had a PDF just yesterday afternoon that exhibited symptoms matching
this description (document won't print; no print-server log of anyone
trying to print it, Evince just refuses to print it). The issue was on
stock Ubuntu (and the document wasn't mine); if I can reproduce on
Athena 10 and get permission, I'll send along details.

I've actually found Evince to be a fairly buggy program, in certain
ways. I think I reported a similar bug or two quite a while back to the
SIPB DebAthena folks; I don't recall how that ended up getting resolved.

I've also seen Evince randomly refuse to open specific PDF's, though
this may have been fixed more recently?.
