Contrary to what I'd thought, switching from the vanilla openafs 1.3.86
(namely, CVS head as of early yesterday evening) to the current CVS head
(with Garry's set of additional patches) changes this behaviour; with the
new code, file access after renewing works normally.
Also note that the weird ls output is due to a change in ls; it now
prints "?" for characteristics of files it can't stat, instead of barfing
on stderr.
This seems like a reasonable candidate for a patch release.
