A new variant of my bug:
Thunderbird steals focus, with the cursor of paper-and-square-corner
that means "refile these to where?"
I log in underneath, and kill metacity. Surprisingly, this doesn't give
me keyboard focus back anywhere. (I don't remember what the state of
the mouse was at this time). I kill thunderbird. At this point, the
mouse seems to work - I can click away zephyrs, and right-click in
gnu-term to open a new terminal window, but nothing is taking keyboard
input.
