These may or may not be cared about, being on a laptop, but I thought
they'd be good to commit to email, for the sake of anyone who might be
interested (and I'm cc: linux-dev, for similar reasons):
Upon upgrading my laptop (IBM Thinkpad X20) from 8.4.25 to 9.0, one big
problem occured. RedHat has the pcmcia startup script later than the
network startup script by default. I'd forgotten that I'd had to rename
S45pcmcia to S09pcmcia to get things to work, and of course the upgrade
named it back. Took me a second to recall. The laptop hangs
interestingly and indefinitely until you fix this.
Also, on startup, it logged this to /var/log/messages 54 times:
Jun 20 09:08:51 kinki-sharyo modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Jun 20 09:08:51 kinki-sharyo modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-3
while this went to the console (54 times):
09:08 /dev/dsp: No such device
