Well, that's pretty weird.
Our Mwm app-defaults file didn't change from 8.3 to 8.4. What may
have changed is our ability to successfully set up XUSERFILESEARCHPATH
to point users at our app-defaults file instead of the native one.
I'll take a look when I get a chance.
