I think nmh is the future too, but you may be interested in
knowing that last weekend Richard announced that he'd like to
pass maintenance of nmh to someone else.  (Web archive at:

The future development model is not yet decided, but there's a
good chance that it will turn into a network CVS repository (as
happened to exmh two weeks ago).  I'm not on the nmh-workers
mailing list, though, so I don't know if there have been more
developments since Richard made his announcement.
