XTerm.foreground and XTerm.background do not work on the 8.0 or 8.1
SGIs I tested, and neither do xterm.foreground and background. Nor
would I expect them to - the relevant color resources in the X Toolkit
can't be reached that way, because they are several levels down.
However, using "*" instead of "." works in all cases of xterm and
XTerm and 8.0 and 8.1 as it should.
So I don't really understand what you are seeing... If things still
don't work if you change dots to stars, then I would be surprised. I'm
not sure what else to suggest.
Thanks for your report.
