hmm... Was your machine on the network at the time of reboot...
The hm[460]: No servers or no hesiod sounds like it couldn't get
name service.... The can't start X may be an indication that the
machine requires the network to start X and should be tracked down
and made independent.... (if for no other reason than to get the
screen saver going and not panic users).
So - was the machine on the network?
