Subj: IS supports and recommends Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.5
--------

Good Afternoon,

IS is pleased to announce that we now support and recommend the latest
version of the popular PDF viewer, Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.5. Acrobat
Reader can be used as a stand alone product or in conjunction with a web
browser on Windows or Macintoshes.

Should I Upgrade
-----------------------------------
If you are using an older version of Acrobat Reader and it is working for
you, then you do not need to upgrade unless you want access to the new
features.

New Features
----------------------------------
- Support for screen readers, offering accessibility to the visually
impaired (Windows only)
- Improved access to Web-hosted applications/online services
- and more available at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrwhatsnew.html

Known Issues
----------------------------------
A few minor installation issues are documented at
http://web.mit.edu/is/help/acrobat/.

Where to get Acrobat Reader
---------------------------------------------------------
Acrobat Reader is available for download from http://web.mit.edu/software
and installation instructions can be found at
http://web.mit.edu/is/help/acrobat/.
