MIT Information Systems is proud to announce the release of Eudora 5.2
for Mac OS X. This release marks the first IS-supported version of
Eudora for the Mac OS X operating system.
Who Should Download and Why
------------------------------
This latest version of Eudora is the only supported version for Mac OS
X. Thus, if you are running Mac OS X as your main operating system, then
you should download Eudora 5.2.
Moving to Mac OS X is a big change from previous versions of the
Macintosh Operating System. If your department has a local computer
administrator, then IS recommends that you consult him or her first
before downloading and installing this new software. If your department
does not have a local computer administrator, then IS recommends that
you carefully review the list of new features and bug fixes and
determine whether you would benefit from upgrading to this newer version
before downloading and installing it. If you are still not sure, please
contact the Computing Help Desk for advice.
Notable Features and Bug Fixes
------------------------------
-Full compatibility with Mac OS X.
-Supports the Mac OS X Services menu.
-PDF attachments now shown inline with email messages
-Inline signature editing: Signatures can now be edited in the message
window while composing an email message
-Address Book enhancements: Save photos of friends, drag and drop
nicknames to, import entries into databases, and vCard support now
integrated
Notable Facts
-------------
-Only Eudora 5.2 for Mac OS X is supported at this time; MIT I/S does
not support Eudora 5.2 for any other platform.
-The installer is MIT customized and includes a preferences installer
that will migrate your old settings.
