Good Afternoon,

MIT Information Systems is proud to announce support for Microsoft
Office v.X for Mac OS X. This release marks the first IS-supported
version of Microsoft Office for the Mac OS X operating system.

Who Should Purchase and Why
------------------------------
This latest version of MS Office is the only supported version for Mac
OS X. Thus, if you are running Mac OS X as your main operating system,
then you should purchase Office v.X.

Moving to Mac OS X is a big change from previous versions of the
Macintosh
Operating System. If your department has a local computer administrator,
then IS recommends that you consult him or her first before purchasing
and installing this new software. If your department does not have a
local computer administrator, then IS recommends that you carefully
review the list of new features and bug fixes and determine whether you
would benefit from upgrading to this newer version before purchasing and
installing it.

If you still have questions, please contact the Computing Help Desk.

Notable Features and Bug Fixes
------------------------------
- Full compatibility with Mac OS X.
- Bold new Aqua user interface
- Compatibility with Office 2001 for Mac, Office 98 Macintosh Edition,
and Windows Office
- Customizable keyboard shortcuts and AutoRecover now also available in
Excel X

For a complete list of new features, please visit the following link:

Known Issues
-------------
- It is recommended that users of Office v. X install the 10.1.2 Update.

Microsoft Office v. X 10.1.2 Update is a combined updater that includes
all
previously released updates for Office v. X. Installing this update on
any
previously released version of Office v. X will bring Office up to date
and
corrects problems that some users had installing previous updates.
