Greetings,
After no response to the original mail to asst-help, I asked Nick in
operations to page Peter Kelley. No response.
I called Rocklyn, who suggested having operations page the asst on call
person. Frank Smith called me back but couldn't help, as he can't log in
to pillage. He agreed that trying to bring down the IPM and Apache servers
within pillage and restarting them seemed a reasonable course. I was able
to bring Apache down without a problem. I went into smitty and attempted
to bring IPM down. After more than 20 minutes I called Rocklyn again. He
entered the shutdown command. The server came down, appeared to come back
up, but is now sitting with a black screen and no lights flashing on the
disk drives.
At this point pillage is down, in an unknown state.
Rocklyn and I have talked about this and decided at this point to stop and
pick this back up in the morning.
General ledger printing will have to wait until we can get pillage back up.
