Today at 7:00 pm Anthony Arnove, editor of Iraq Under Siege : The
Deadly Impact of Sanctions and War, will be speaking in room 4-237.
Anthony Arnove was an activist against the Gulf War in 1990 and 1991
and has been involved for many years in anti-sanctions work as a member
of the I.S.O. in Rhode Island, which helped launch a coalition against
sanctions, the Emergency Response Network. To date more than one
million people have been killed by the economic sanctions imposed in
1990, more than half of them children under five. The sanctions remain in
place due to the United States and Great Britain so only the power of the
people will stop this genocide. In summary
