from the International Action Center:

May 7 event for Mumia at Madison Square Garden a huge success

*NY DAILY NEWS POLL on MUMIA

Yesterday, 6,000 people packed Madison Square Garden for Mumia in a
sold-out rally for Mumia Abu-Jamal--the largest indoor event that has
ever taken place in his support. (A comprehensive press release and
statement will be circulated later today reporting on the very
successful Garden event, but we're sending this email out because your
action is immediately required.)

This event has received a lot of media coverage in New York, including
tv, radio, and print, including the NY dailies and the New York Times
metro section.

THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS IS RUNNING A POLL ON ITS WEB SITE
www.nydailynews.com
- - --ON WHETHER MUMIA SHOULD GET A NEW TRIAL.

Go to the "News and Views" section. One of the top stories is "Big
rally for cop killer Abu-Jamal at Garden." You should also see the poll
on the left hand column.

You can access the poll for Mumia directly with this link:
http://www.nydailynews.com/today/News_and_Views/-/default.asp
(you may need to refresh the page to get the most updated results)

Please post this message widely. We are not sure how long the poll will
last. It could only be for today.

Our political intervention in every arena will make the difference in
the battle for public opinion in support of Mumia. This is the most
critical time period.

Also, please let us know about any national coverage you find. We have
received coverage from Associated Press, Reuters and local New York
press.
