Accomplishment sof the past period:
Posted web survey. To date there have been 316 responses.
Updated the project notebook to include pages for resources, reports and a
work plan.
Surveyed web to find what other institutions are doing; began interviewing
other institutions.
Had first team meeting to discuss work plan.
Created the mailing list highspeed for the team.
Created first draft of questions for vendors.
Goals for next period:
Put data from survey in database and analyze results.
Meet with Jim Bruce as keystakeholder. Scheduled for April 10.
Finalize matrix of vendors (4-5) and questions.
Contact vendors to schedule appointments for interviews.
Interview "heavy" tether users.
Continue to talk with other universities.
Review casetracker logs to see what interest there has been in high speed
remote access.
Talk to known users of DSL services.
Issues:
Will vendor installations for testers meet our fast track time schedule?
Will team members commit to and deliver work other than testing the ISPs?
