Project Name: IMAP Email Services
Project Leader: Matt Brody
Report Date March 29, 2000
Submitted by: Matt Brody
URL: http://http://web.mit.edu/is/discovery/imap/notebook.htm

Accomplishments past period:

- Finalized draft of recommended features for an IMAP email client
- Developed detailed checklist for email client testing
- Revised support, documentation, and training portions of project plan
- Moved to expand number of IMAP client testers
- Sent IMAP survey to Ivy+ Administrative Computing Group via Bob
Ferrara
- Began to compile above survey results (posted to our project
notebook)
- Sent email survey to early IMAP adaptors at MIT; still compiling
- Performed 2nd check-in with one of our two sponsors (Theresa Regan)
- Met with Sloan and Facilities Management IS re. their email needs
and IMAP
- Developed 1st draft of Discovery Report outline
- Arranged for team leader to appear before ITIT to discuss IMAP and
SSL
	authentication; scheduled for 4/6

Goals for the coming period:

- Continue client testing
- Continue to follow-up on Eudora for Windows problem; new version that
supports IMAP has problem with MIT Kerberos; haven't been able to test
yet for IMAP.
- Follow-up on Pine support for IMAP on the Athena platform
- Continue to shift focus to the support, documentation, and training
questions
- Firm up Discovery Report outline and began writing content

Issues:

- keeping the team focused given outside workload, priorities, etc.

Key learnings:

- check-in with team members individually or in smaller groups with some
frequency; helps keep things on track and ensure everyone feels
supported.

Team dynamics:

- The team continues to work together well and remains very interested
and engaged in the work at hand.

Additional comments:

- None
