Tim,

The mail you forward comes from the form at
http://mit.edu/ist/topics/windows/server/cr/independentDNS . That
form is accessed from one page, .../server/request_forms.html, and
posts data to the file index.txt in the same independentDNS directory.
The addressee on that form is you and only you. It can and should be
changed, but there are two issues with doing this.

First, when a form (or any other page for that matter) changes on
windows/server, who does version control? I believe noone. Joe keeps
versions of old forms Pismere built, but they are both ad hoc and
incomplete. Probably Joe should keep a CVS tree of all this, which I
propose also for selfish reasons, since I want to make other changes
in those pages.

Second, to whom should this form send mail? As far as I know, the
form should be owned by Kakapo and they will decide. For a temporary
change I have edited the index.txt to send mail to netreq. I keep the
previous index.txt and rename it indexOld.txt. In the future, I can
predict that changing it permanently would require work from either
Oliver or Joe.

-Tom
