Accomplishments for November

--Complete 1st draft phase 2 project plan.
-- Created timeline for phase 2 project plan.
-- Organized release and promotion of Geodata Search Tool (Organization
included: GIS Lab open house, MIT spotlight, announcements, posters
session, and demonstrations.)
--Review recommendations for authentication results.
--Continue to work on minor bugs on the Geodata Search Tool, ArcView version.
--Student hire completed revision of all metadata on the spatial database.
-- Ordered new data for the spatial database.
-- Major updates to the GIS Lab web site (http://libraries.mit.edu/gis/ )
based on August usability testing.
Goals for December
--------------------------------------
-- Document structure of ArcView version of Geodata Search Tool.
-- Map out structure of ArcGIS version of the Geodata Search Tool.
-- Develop GIS IAP classes
-- Develop coding structure and file backup system for interface program files.
-- Learn to use XML database tools.
-- Final recommendations and project plan for authentication and users
accounts issues for the Spatial Data Repository.
-- Look into the possibility to moving to Oracle 9i during IAP.
-- Upkeep of the ArcView version of the Geodata Search Tool.
-- New metadata records will be created for tiger roads files already
loaded into the spatial data repository.
