Accomplishments for August 2002:
A quieter month on the Events Calendar.
- Continued conversation with new EAST team leader, Tom Grayson, about
transition of Events Calendar to that team.
- Continued conversation with Paul Heffernan regarding licensing of Events
Calendar code to other academic
institutions. Paul has corresponded with the two student authors of the
Tech Calendar code and is
well on the way to ironing out the details.
- Several enhancements for calendar administrators. Events Calendar
spotlight maintenance
screen and the ability for administrators to enter events under a
"Special Events" category.
Plans for next month:
- Start the EAST transition. Tentative target for full transition to EAST
is October 31. 2002.
Community Milestones
- None this month.
Issues:
- Calendar administrators are becoming more interested in the addition of
new Event categories
along with other enhancements which may require a redesign of the events
home page. The issue
of resources for such a project needs to be addressed.
Future releases:
1.7 - further enhancements - no date set yet.
2.0 - redesign of events home page.
