Team Members: Tom Grayson, Michal Lusztig, Mohammad Sharai, Dan Sheehan,
and Esther Yanow

Accomplishments during July 2002:
- Create scripts to rebuild the databases and back up copies are made
- Continue work on ArcView SDE Interface.
- Continue loading data
- Continue creating MARC records
- HTML records also be created in XML
- Load XML records onto SDE server
- Start ArcGis interface work
- Re-arrange directories structure and naming conventions
- Miki to allocate 20% time to work on Apache, Oracle and ArcIMS
- Initiate the relocation process of Carto from DUSP to W92 and will be
used mainly as staging server and possibly as a development machine for the
time being.
Goals for August.
- Release of ArcView with MIT customized interface
- Move Carto to W92.
- Upgrade Oracle, Apache and ArcIMS on Carto to be a staging server
- Miki to work on ArcIMS version 4
- Create help menu and documentations for the ArcView interface.
- Usability test of the ArcView interface
- GIS brochure
- Continue work on ArcGIS interface
Issues
- Current ArcView interface authentication/authorization mechanism is
valid for this release and not applicable when we move to more stringent
requirements to access sensitive and/or licensed data.
- Backup and Recovery
Next Community Milestone:
Announce service with data loaded and backup with an Athena interface and
goals for a web interface (Late summer 2002).
