Project Name: IS Web Redesign Project
Project Leader: Christine Cavanna
                 Jeff Reed
Report Date: July 10, 2002
URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/isweb/

Accomplishments in June
- Held first meeting of Advisory Council to review their role in the project
and the DRAFT Site Map & Wire Frames
- Finalized analysis of focus group and interview feedback.
- Completed 1 round of usability testing on 1st Draft of Site Map/Wire Frames.
- Reviewed 1st pass of Scope Document.
- Developed outline for Guidelines and Procedures document and what needs to be
   included.

Goals for July
- Finalize scope document.
- Hold round 2 of next iteration of site map/wire frames (July 9).
- Finalize IS Web site map and wire frames (week of 7/15).
- Update meeting schedule for design presentations, usability and check-in's.
- Complete 1st draft of Guidelines and Policies for adding, maintaining and
   auditing IS web pages.
- Communicate status of project to infosys

Next Community Milestone
- NOTE: There will not be a milestone that is visible to the community (MIT)
until the implementation of the new pages. However, there are planned check
in's with the Advisory Council, IS staff and with Usability testers during
   the project.

Issues/Learnings (ongoing)
- Project is very large based on size of Web site
- There will need to be many sub-teams to keep critical check-ins for usability
testing, quality assurance and information architecture throughout
the project
- These initial phases of developing the wire frames and site map are critical
to the overall site and although it has pushed the time line out a bit; the
time spent refining these will benefit the site redesign in the long run.
- Team will need to propose an implementation plan regarding how the
   content will be converted/transferred into the newly designed site; by whom;
and by when (this will need to be a phased approach). This may be the
   largest part of the task.

Team Dynamics
- Need to keep energy levels up.
- Need to continue more thinking outside the box on design and site map.
- Still working on team cohesiveness and our ability to make decisions as a
team (this is getting better the more we work together).
