Hi Anton -
We'll look into making that switch. In the mean time, the
recommended VNC client on Ubuntu these days is vinagre - it's under
the Applications -> Internet menu as "Remote Desktop Viewer". It's
being actively maintained. On the other hand, both xvnc4viewer and
xtightvncviewer (the VNC viewer currently installed) have fallen a bit
by the wayside in terms of maintenance - neither of them have been
updated since Hardy and Intrepid, respectively.

In non-fullscreen mode you can use the scroll bars (if your server is at higher desktop resolution than the client) a grand total of once before they stop working, leaving you stuck in a certain section of the screen. In fullscreen mode weird things also happen: it doesn't fully go to full screen (gnome panel is still visible) and the only way to quit the client is to launch a terminal (by using Alt-F2 shorcut key) and typing killall vncviewer in the terminal window that appears under the vnc client (ie, you can't see it).
