OpenOffice3 crash loops on Athena

I was working on a document this morning on an Athena station on our hall
and when I logged out I hadn't closed OO first (but I did save my thing,
thank goodness). So Athena auto-closed all the programs like it should,
but when I logged back on and tried to continue working on the document OO
repeatedly tried to recover the document, failed to do so, then crashed
when trying to open an existing document/make a new one, then tried to
restart itself, tried to recover the old document etc. in an infinite
loop. Luckily, StarOffice opens the document just fine. Thoughts?
