Hi.
Apologies for the delay in responding.
I tried to reproduce this, and found that the keyboard preferences
window (or any other I tried after the initial launch of the
control-center) was displayed, but was not raised by the window
manager. Is it possible you experienced the same thing, but
with the new window completely obscured by your other windows?
I'm guessing this is a metacity window stacking problem, and will
investigate that more closely.
Thanks,
Bob
