Okay, this is replicable for me by:
1) Log into each dialup simultaneously
2) On each of them, run /mit/boojum/bin/afstest
This appends to /mit/boojum/bin/data/test-afs once per second, five
hundred times. Watching it run, it seems to generate the null bug
every two or three entries.
It doesn't happen if I just log into one dialup, so I can't see if
using the test dialup helps.
