Just to make sure I understand- you see the problem just on this dual cpu AMD
Opteron machine, and not on generic uniprocessor Linux-Athena machines, right?

This isn't something we can easily help you with locally, particularly since
we don't have hardware that can reproduce the problem. I've arranged with
Mathworks tech support to help you directly- if you can call them while
you're at the machine they may be able to work on it with you in realtime.

Call 508-647-7000, option 5-option 1. Tell them it's incident number 1-YUCOW,
and if they ask for the license # it's 191229. If necessary mention that I
(Alex Prengel) called to set this up.

Note that we remap the default command-line options- our default is
their -nodesktop; also if they ask we have the 32 bit version
installed as far as I'm aware (I don't recall if during the install
there was a point where a 64 bit option was offered, but if there was
I most likely would have said "no").
