I submitted a patch which captures any unexpected error in the
attempt to "ping" the running mozilla, and displays it as a
warning as part of the lock file dialog. (It will also bypass
the ping when doing "mozilla -remote" -- the mozilla binary
should give the same error as any ping failure in that case).
Please let us know if you have further problems with the mozilla
remote mechanism.
