Hi.

Thanks for your bug report about Mozilla hanging when trying to talk
to esd. This was likely a problem with esd (though ideally Mozilla
would not hang in this situation).  I was unable to reproduce the bug,
but, by using a debugger to stop the esd process, I did confirm that
Mozilla hangs in that situation.  Unfortunately, Mozilla will always
use esd when the latter is running, and cannot be easily modified to
do otherwise.

I assume you were the owner of /tmp/.esd/socket?

If this problem occurs again, can you please check if esd is running,
and, if so, whether killing it resolves the problem?
