Fine, I accept their admission of humility and admire it greatly.
But let's just say that I *want* to be awake at 4 AM on a Sunday
morning. Assuming this to be the case, is there any way for me to
avoid this problem short of rebooting?
I waited about fifteen minutes before rebooting. Richard recommended
rebooting because, he couldn't think of anything else that would fix
the problem, after he tried several other things.
