By default, mozilla connects to news servers using SSL on port
563. news.mit.edu doesn't accept connection on this port. As a result,
users who have just gone through Mozilla's configuration wizard will,
upon trying to subscribe to news groups, receive an error to the
effect of "Can't connect to the news server".
Could either the news.mit.edu maintainers allow SSL connections on
port 563, or, if this is doable, could the default mozilla
configuration on athena be configured to point to news.mit.edu on port
119?
