System name: snowdrop.mit.edu
Type and version:	Ultra-60 8.4.19 (with mkserv)
Display type: ffb

Shell: /bin/athena/bash
Window manager: icewm

What were you trying to do?
	Start an xterm

What's wrong:
Xterm starts but with a '0' printed on the first line, before
        the 'athena$' prompt.

What should have happened:
	No '0'.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	None.

Obviously this is not urgent, I was just curious as to where
the errant '0' is coming from. I have only just switched to using
the bash shell and it wasn't until I copied over the sample .bash*
files from /usr/prototype_user that the zero appeared in my new xterms
(and rxvts for that matter).

I traced it to the system-wide bashrc file /usr/athena/lib/init/bashrc -
if you source this file from the command line, it prints a 0 character.

Thanks,
Steve.
