What were you trying to do?
log into an sgi to check my mail with xmh.
What's wrong?
console says "The file alteration monitor has stopped responding.
...
To fix this problem, it is recommended that you
save all your work, log out, and log back in.
/usr/sbin/imdmonitor: cannot open FAM connection."
Then "File Manage Error" windows pop up periodically which
reads "The File Alteration Monitor has stopped responding ..."
What should have happened:
