Here is a status report on our work with the system that was refusing to
configure X:

1. We plugged in the supplied video monitor, and did an Athena install.
Alas, everything came up fine.

2. So we are back to square 1. We should probably do the following:

	a. Cluster services should pick up the CPU and monitor from
	W92-142 and deploy it.

	b. If any other systems exhibit the same symptoms, leave them as-is
and email bugs. People here who might be available to visit
are: tb, amb, wdc, ghudson. But just calling me may not be as
helpful as you'd expect. I'm spread too thin these days.

3. The note I sent last night contained more errors than facts and so I
need to correct what I said. I did not understand how we do monitor
configuration at all. I apologize for giving an explanation when I
didn't know what I was talking about.

I'd assumed that we did stuff similarly to the way Sun configures the
monitor but that's not true. So the order of powering stuff on does NOT
matter. In fact, the Linux Athena config largely ignores the monitor
when it configures. (This may or may not change in the future.)
