Nevertheless, some users still prefer Netscape 3. (For instance, I
favor it because it's much less bloated than version 4, because it
adequately, handles most of the pages I look at, and because I happen
to like its interface slightly better.) I for one would really prefer
not to have to start version 4 every time I want to access an
off-campus secure site.
Unfortunately, it seems that Netscape would rather desupport version 3
SSL than rerelease it with newer certificates, so this problem is not
as easy to fix as one might like.
