I think the low-effort, low-risk, potentially high-return nature of
this, I think it's worthwhile to put something into a patch release.
I'd go as far as to "cmp || cp" each file and then sync when done with
all of them (and you saw the even more complicated patch I submitted a
couple of weeks ago), but I think that at least the sync ought to be
included.
