Figure out why 2 cluster machines weren't responding to athinfo
What went wrong?
on one of them all of the files listed in
/srvd/usr/athena/lib/update/configfiles were zero lenght. On
the other, I think they all were too, but I stopped checking
after I noticed resolv.conf and named.conf being zero length.
The first machien appears to have been in this state for a
couple of weeks, and I didn't check the other.
Since resolv.conf and named.conf were zero length, the machine
failed to attach packs, because hesiod failed.
Yo, got any documentation, or other info?
To fix the machines I did the following:
added the following to resolv.conf:
domain mit.edu
nameserver 18.71.0.151
attach -O athena-sun4sys-83
/etc/athena/reactivate
reboot
