Actually, isn't the third problem (mail from local accounts uses
"username@machine") only in 8.2? Either way, it's fixable.

We were talking about people on Athena workstations, sending mail from
non-MIT.EDU addresses, not people on non-Athena machines. (The bug
report was that if from an Athena workstation, you try to send mail
from a non-mit.edu address, it will bounce.)
