"vddb" loses on packs modified in ANY January

I tested vddb with pack "modified" fields in rvddb set to January of
other years ('87, '88) and got the same garbled result as we've been
seeing this month. Also, if you look at the garbled output it
produces, there seem to be a correct day of month and year being
printed, also suggesting that the month field is losing for January.
Amazing that this never bit anyone before...
