Very odd indeed. I went back and tried the tek mode again, and after
quite a bit of testing, I discovered that if all of my .login happens,
xterm -t fails, but if some of it does not get done, xterm -t
succeeds. I have no idea what might cause this, but I'm looking.
Probably something in xrdb. If it's significant, I'll get back to
you.
