Hi. Mike Barker is correct (or at least, the evidence strongly
suggests that he is) about your problems being related to the named
bug.
This is a pretty bad problem to be showing up during early release,
and on behalf of the release team I apologize. Our experience with
BIND upgrades has not usually been this disappointing. Because of
this and some other named problems, we may be reverting back to BIND
8.1.x (the version used in Athena 8.2) in an upcoming patch release.
