What were you trying to do?
Hide the "personal toolbar folder" from the list of bookmarks.
What's wrong:
The method for hiding it doesn't work.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
OLC log for onetworks, probably #16201, for user lucia. And ALSO:
If you go to Help->"Help Contents", choose index, search for toolbar,
choose "personal toolbar", and follow the link (*whew*), you'll see the
help on the personal toolbar. (Duh.) Ok, now, if you page down a few,
you'll get to the section titled "To remove all your toolbar buttons".
It mentions something about an option "Turn off Toolbar Folder". But
this function does not exist in the View menu as it specifies.
I then went to www.netscape.com and did a search for "turn off toolbar
folder". The third on down on the list said:
> 61% Using Netscape Bookmarks
> URL:
> Summary: Using Netscape Bookmarks - Reference Bookmarks offer a
> convenient means to retrieve pages whose locations (URLs) you've
> saved. You store your bookmarks in a list that's saved on your hard
> disk.
I followed this link, where I was told the following should exist in the
View menu of the "Edit Bookmarks" dialog:
> Set as Toolbar Folder/Turn Off Toolbar Folder makes the selected
> folder the container for personal toolbar buttons or, if the personal
> toolbar folder is selected, turns the selection off so that there are
> no personal toolbar buttons. Each bookmark and bookmark folder in the
> personal toolbar folder is represented by a button on the personal
> toolbar; folders are displayed as pop-up menus.
This feature does not work.
From the little messing I did, I also noticed that Netscape will allow
you to repeatedly set a folder as the toolbar folder. This suggests to
me that maybe the "Edit Bookmarks" dialog is having troubles identifying
a folder as a personal toolbar folder.
