What were you trying to do?
This is just a followup on a previous message.
The -e option on telnetd works fine unless you are running the
athena telnet program (/usr/athena/bin/telnet). That is the version
that causes telnetd to hang if you don't have kerberos tickets. I
have tested this both with the release telnetd and the telnetd on the
dialups, with the same results.
