Incidentally, it would be helpful if you put a copy of the source file
in a readable AFS directory; I might be able to figure out the
problem. gcc -ansi -pedantic does *not* reject all non-ANSI programs;
it only gives those errors and warnings that the standard requires.
So it might be that your program is not actually ANSI C.
