Can you please retry your compile using the gcc in the GNU locker?
That will shortly become the supported GCC version. This may be
related to changes of types in system header files associated with the
increment in the version of Irix, and I fear that the version of the
compiler in cygnus-97r2 is the one built for Irix 5.
The version currently in the GNU locker was built for Irix 6 and might
work for you. Please try it and let me know the results. If it fails
again, it would be very helpful if you would add -v to the compile
line and mail the entire output.
