When submitting a bug report, please list the exact command you typed
and a detailed description of what happened (or didn't) so we can
attempt to reproduce the problem.  I have verified that the basic
functions of the axis and axes commands are both working properly in
MATLAB 4.2c and 5.1.  

Feel free to write back with more detail if you still think the
software is malfunctioning, or contact olc for advice if you need help
with MATLAB command syntax.
