What were you trying to do?
Display a DVI file produced by LaTeX
What's wrong:
xdvi exits with "Socket I/O possible" error message. The
exact point at which it crashes with the message seems to be
random, but it always happens pretty quickly. It did this
repeatedly in about a dozen tests, once getting as far as
opening the display window, but usually crashing almost
immediately after starting.
Once, I also saw "Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x7d2e)!"
on the console window.
What should have happened:
xdvi should have displayed the document in question.
