Display type: cgthree

What were you trying to do?
Run a regression using SAS

What's wrong:
I knew I wasn't crazy... I recently submitted a bug report on SAS because
syntactically perfect programs sometimes will not produce output or will
produce error messages. I just ran a program that worked. I got the
expected output and no error messages. Just to see, I cleared the text
from the output and log windows, recalled the text into the program
editor, resubmitted the program with NO CHANGES WHATSOEVER, and the
second time it did not work!
I just cleared the output and logs again, and an error message
popped up spontaneously, which is what prompted this second bug report.
The exact text of the error message follows:

ERROR: Segmentation Violation (address not mapped to object) captured in task
       'PROGRAM'.

Subsequent to this error message, SAS crashed.
I have no idea if this has anything to do with the fact that SAS
seems to decide on its own if it likes my programs, but perhaps this will
help you find this problem that does exist...

What should have happened:
the program should have run normally.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:

I thought the problem was related to my customizations, but I have been
running SAS without any customizations and it still doesn't work.
