As some background, somethings were re-arranged between 7.7 and 8.0.
In 8.0 the system packs are split into /srvd (athena software) and /os
(OS software, modified little or none form the way sun ships it).

This looks like a link that should exist in 7.7 not 8.0, are you sure
the machine was properly updated to 8.0?

If you are running on and 8.0 sun with 8.0 packs attached, and run
mkserv nfs, shareall should be copied local.

I think sun moved this to /etc/inet/inetd.conf. Sounds like another
7.7 vs 8.0 problem.
I know mkserv ops has not been tested under 8.0 so that may be part of
the problem.
