What were you trying to do?
use the X font 5x8.
What went wrong?
On the RS/6k, it doesn't seem to exist.
What should have happened?
in one of the relevant font.dir files, the following line should be
added:
5x8.pcf.Z -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--8-80-75-75-c-50-iso8859-1
or something similar.
Anything else you'd like to add?
if you want the pcf font, you could copy it out of
/afs/athena.mit.edu/system/pmax_ul4/srvd.77/usr/athena/lib/X11/fonts/misc/5x8.pcf
